Summary

Addresses #176 by documenting how NVBench integrates with CUPTI and by exposing the existing CUPTI example from the top-level README.

Changes

  • Add docs/cupti.md with build configuration, metric collection, replay/runtime considerations, and profiling guidance.
  • Link examples/auto_throughput.cu from the README examples list.
  • Link the new CUPTI guide from the README build section.

Testing

  • git diff --check — passed.
  • Verified all documentation links target existing files.
  • CUDA/CMake build not run because the local environment does not provide cmake or a CUDA toolkit.

Notes

The implementation is documentation-only and reflects the existing NVBench_ENABLE_CUPTI, state.collect_*, and --profile interfaces. No overlapping open PR was found for issue #176. AI assistance was used; the changes were reviewed for scope and accuracy.
