Adds an opt-in limit_app_user_collection setting that restricts /api/v1/apps/{id}/users requests to app types the collector recognizes (AppName, all in ALWAYS_COLLECTED_APP_USERS) plus application IDs listed in app_user_collection_app_ids. Default behaviour is unchanged.

  • Gating is a dlt FilterItem prepended to the application_users transformer, so skipped apps never hit the endpoint.
  • Skipped apps keep nodes and group-based assignment edges but get no direct user Okta_AppAssignment, sync, or hybrid sign-on edges.
  • New AppName StrEnum replaces app-name literals duplicated across hybrid_auth.py, application_users.py, and the OIN route catalog.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added optional controls to limit application-user collection to selected application types and IDs.
    • When limiting is enabled, applications outside the selected set still retain their application and group-based assignment data, but direct-user assignments, sync, and hybrid sign-on edges are not collected.
    • Documented the new settings and their defaults.

Walkthrough

The change adds a shared enum for recognized Okta application names and optional settings to limit application-user collection by application name and ID. When enabled, the source filters the application-user resource. Tests and documentation describe the settings and collection behavior.

Changes

Application-user collection limits

Layer / File(s) Summary
Centralize application names
src/openhound_okta/app_names.py, src/openhound_okta/models/*, src/openhound_okta/oin_routes/*
AppName defines recognized application-name values. Application-user, hybrid-auth, and OIN route logic now uses these enum members instead of local string values.
Configure and apply collection filtering
src/openhound_okta/extension.yaml, src/openhound_okta/source.py, tests/test_app_user_collection_limit.py, README.md
The extension and source accept settings to limit application-user collection by recognized application names and configured IDs. Tests check filtering and requested application-user paths. The README documents the settings and collection behavior.

The source keeps the application and group-assignment resources separate from filtered application-user collection. Before merging, account for the missing graph-level regression coverage and the small manifest/README default mismatch; no current runtime failure is established.

43-46: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Declare a default for app_user_collection_app_ids.

The parameter has no default, while the neighbouring optional parameter declares one. The README documents the default as []. If the extension loader passes a null or missing value, the source still handles it because it uses app_user_collection_app_ids or (). Add default: [] so the manifest matches the README.

Add a graph-level regression test for limited application-user collection.

The changed tests stop at resource filtering and endpoint rows. They do not run the limited source through graph construction. Add assertions that an unlisted application's node and group assignment edge remain, while its direct user assignment, sync, and hybrid sign-on edges are absent. A resource or conversion regression can pass the current tests while violating this graph contract.
