   I'm sorry for the late reply.
   I've never used XAML designer with this sample app (and not using XAML designer for long time as it's unbearably slow with big projects). And I never using events - prefer MVVM pattern and with it it's rarely required to define event handlers right in XAML...

   Unfortunately, I don't have any workaround for this issue.
   I think we need to report this to VS tools team. Maybe you've already did this?
