What happens
The lighting from light bulbs is bleeding through walls as shown in the screenshot below
This issue used to happen in both Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror & Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow but after the update to PPSSPP v1.5 the issue got fixed in Dark Mirror but it's still there in Logan's Shadow's both NTSC & PAL versions
The Lights issue is also happening in Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror at a certain distance from the lights not at all distances, here is a screenshot and a save state in the location (Episode 2, Part 4)
This is be solved now (since #19748 with followups).
Question please, The lights issues on Dark Mirror & Logan's Shadow got resolved, huge thanks for that.
Given that, I noticed that this specific issue -> #17378 The flickering is still there. But turning off "Hardware Transform" fixes it, this was tested on 1.20.4 / and latest dev builds from 2 days ago.
I know it's a separate issue but I was told by you in a reply above to combine them here.
My question is: Is this by design? Does Hardware Transform need to be tured off for Logan's Shadow even after this fix #19748 ? Or does turning it off hurt the game in other places? Thanks.
I don't know why, but sometime between 2025 and 2026, this light bleed issue has returned, in both Dark Mirror and Logan's Shadow.
I tested on latest stable 1.20.4 and latest dev build as well. #10229 might be related too. Since both games are affected.
Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong thread, I didn't wanna clutter and open a new issue. I'll follow any necessary instructions on where to post.
While I was trying to test for the other issue about timing, I changed frame skipping to 1, which makes the game 30 FPS and it causes lights to bleed, I turned it off and the issue is gone.
I apologize for the inconvenience, it's totally on me, I should click "restore settings to defaults" before I post any tests in the future.
Ah yeah, frameskipping I guess can also cause this. I recommend to never, ever use it, in fact it's probably time to hide it well on performant devices.

Hm, we are enabling depth readbacks for Logan's Shadow as well, it must be doing something a bit differently then...

Let's keep any investigation of #17378 here (flickery lights).
Also, on the PSP, NTSC and PAL video formats are not used. Let's call it US and EUR regions.

I forgot about that one, no idea why it happens, will need to investigate.

Dark Mirror

Logan's Shadow

That one is fixed, you must have changed the "Lens flare occlusion" settnig away from auto, or modified the game ID so the workaround doesn't kick in.
Check the IDs of the two game.
(it is possible that there are a few rare edge cases where it still happens - make savestates if so).
