Hi, lately I’ve been trying to load libraries and external files (downloaded from Civitai) into Invoke AI 6. I’ve noticed that for some files, you need to select the specific file itself, while for others, you need to point to the folder path where the file is located. Furthermore, I’ve observed that Invoke takes the selected file, cuts it, and moves it into its own internal directory—assigning it a folder with a very long serial number. This makes it difficult to keep track of which file is which, as they all end up hidden behind these long, cryptic serial strings. Your documentation is clear on this: nothing in that section should be touched, as it’s managed entirely by Invoke. If you change names or move folders, Invoke will stop working—which is exactly what happened to me; I had to delete everything and start from scratch. I often wonder if there’s a more logical way to catalog downloaded files—perhaps by allowing us to reference the original folder path directly within the Invoke interface. Also, would it be possible to implement a drag-and-drop feature? That way, any file dragged into Invoke could be detected and—provided it’s compatible—copied into the application, leaving the original downloaded file untouched. This would help in keeping a clear record of what has been downloaded. Thanks.
You can install any Model with the in-place Option to avoid all that. Any Model that is installed as in-place will not be moved into invoke models folder.
