IMO it looks like #377 adds a very ASP.NET Core-specific implementation of an OAuth provider. In contrast, I would rather see this package implement the auth logic with pluggable handlers, allowing users to hook up any OAuth system. Then changes like #377 could add native ASP.NET Core support using the hooks provided by the base lib. I think the native ASP.NET Core auth will be useful, but I know several dotnet projects that use other systems for auth.
(of course all of this is coming up now that the Claude desktop app now has a more user-friendly support for cloud-based MCP, but it requires the OAuth style auth)
