[Bug]: Retained coordinator and reviewer panes missing from sidebar on 1.4.230 #31001

Open

Description

@j3w1

Orca 1.4.230 can omit a retained coordinator and completed reviewers from the worktree sidebar while the execution host still lists their exact terminal panes and custom role titles.

Observed in one disposable supervised objective on a Linux headless host, with a paired desktop reported as 1.4.230:

  • Task worktree: one Codex coordinator titled Coordinator.
  • Exactly one child worktree: a Codex Implementer, a Claude Reviewer · round 1, and a Claude Follow-up reviewer · round 2.
  • Supported terminal inventory/layout and terminal show readbacks contain all four connected panes with those titles and the expected parent/child placement.
  • A genuine desktop image shows the correct task and child but only the Implementer row. Coordinator and both reviewer rows are absent.
  • The implementer was waiting on an unanswered native coordinator ask. One review had failed, the correction had been independently reviewed successfully, and both reviewer terminals were retained. Connected PTYs do not establish that stale reviewer agent-status projections are live.

The original image is retained privately, SHA256 a367e5abc3b5028fb82d65f524dee6736d819080b4ce4cda903f75b8fc2b8da1. Its capture time is UNKNOWN, so this is an observed field gap, not a claimed atomic screenshot/backend comparison or deterministic reproduction. No private image, session IDs, prompts or machine paths are attached.

Expected: retained agent sessions whose exact terminal panes still exist should remain discoverable, with truthful idle/completed/unverifiable state, rather than silently disappear from the task overview. This is not a request to retain rows after their terminals are closed.

Related issues were checked before filing: #10130 covers idle Codex rows disappearing over SSH, #20859 discusses Codex sidebar lifecycle parity, and #23767 concerns Codex title/daemon-hook attribution. They cover related Codex symptoms but do not establish the cause of this mixed Codex-coordinator/Claude-reviewer observation. #30037 provides custom-title propagation; correct host titles alone have not established full sidebar rendering. #28860 concerns completed Codex review status, and is not assumed to explain absent rows.

A separate resource-ownership transition was frozen and retained during the trial; its trigger/actor is UNKNOWN. No causal link from the rendering gap to that transition is established. No ownership reset, forced release, new reproduction trial or speculative source patch was used for this report.

Please investigate the retained/session-status projection for this mixed-provider case, or identify an existing issue that covers it. Local code/review results, native ownership, PTY connection and desktop visibility are being tracked separately.
