Upgraded to the latest version and it appears to be trying to scan my disc. It's going systematically through a number of my folders and I'm having to obviously deny its access. But what's going on, Pete?
I run codex and claude binaries to get the data out, and they seem to run stuff in the background sometimes.
That's the saem as when you run them via Terminal, just that you long gave your Terminal these permissions so you never noticed.
Apart from forking/shipping custom binaries or hacking web access (which is all far more terrible), I don't see a way around this.
