🔴 Users following the RPC quickstart now get a pruned minimal node, even though it enables the trace API. The paragraph below still says RPC nodes run in archive mode by default. rpc.mdx:21 and :28 switch --archive to --minimal. That contradicts cli/download.mdx, which tells RPC providers to use --archive and says tracing workloads should not use minimal mode. Fix: keep --archive in the RPC quickstart and point standby/validator users to --minimal in a separate note, or remove trace and reword line 33 so the page agrees with itself.
Why this was flagged
A new RPC operator copies the quickstart in rpc.mdx:20-29. That runs tempo download --chain mainnet --minimal and then tempo node --follow ... --http.api eth,net,web3,txpool,trace --minimal. src/pages/docs/cli/download.mdx says minimal mode prunes older history, and says "If the node serves historical RPC, indexing, archive, or tracing workloads, use --archive instead". Historical state queries and trace calls against older blocks will therefore fail on the node this quickstart builds. On the base branch the quickstart used --archive and served full history. Line 33 now says "By default, RPC nodes run in archive mode" and then suggests --minimal as an option, right below a quickstart that already uses it.
Verification: Trigger: an RPC operator copies the quickstart as written. The diff changes rpc.mdx:21 from --archive to --minimal, and adds --minimal at :28. The same command still enables --http.api eth,net,web3,txpool,trace, so the quickstart now builds a pruned node while advertising trace support. Before this change the quickstart produced an archive node, so this is a regression in the guidance.
Document validator recovery for bare-metal disks, cloud consensus volumes, and synced standbys, including fencing, consensus-state transfer, and the execution recovery window.
Move public-key and network changes into a dedicated Validator rotation page, preserve existing lifecycle links, and add signing-share checks to the monitoring guide.
Validation: TypeScript check, internal anchor check, and
git diff --checkpass.
